Will my Sim have to quit his job to go to the university

Will I have to quit my job to go to the university or will it be put on hold as well? I am getting some sims ready for University Life and was wondering if I should even start them on their career pa...

As stated above it will be put on hold, basically the home town freezes completely, like if you went to a WA destination :) Your sims job will be still be there when they get back nothing will have changed in the home town at all!
