Will my Sim have to quit his job to go to the university

Will I have to quit my job to go to the university or will it be put on hold as well? I am getting some sims ready for University Life and was wondering if I should even start them on their career pa...

I'm sure it can be either way. My point was that it shouldn't be presumed and needs to be confirmed. I, personally, hope they keep their jobs.
