Will my Sim have to quit his job to go to the university

Will I have to quit my job to go to the university or will it be put on hold as well? I am getting some sims ready for University Life and was wondering if I should even start them on their career pa...

You don't have to quit the job, it is put on hold until your return. I was just posting what Twallan stated, then I came to the understanding why there is no local college. That is one of the reasons University is in a sub hood.
