Will my Sim have to quit his job to go to the university

Will I have to quit my job to go to the university or will it be put on hold as well? I am getting some sims ready for University Life and was wondering if I should even start them on their career pa...

If you stay at home while going to university, you keep your job. I have a married couple with a house and two children. One child goes to school, the other to daycare... both adults go to work and school.
