RJ all the flu shots are the dead virus - the only live virus is the nose spray one that has to be done in 2 doses. It is the one mostly given to kids. But as far as the shots well it depends on your overall health as to what dose you get - but like I said they are all the dead one now a days - but according to my doctor there is the standard shot for most of the public - with what is called "Fluzone High-Dose 2013-14 SYR" given to people with serious health issues and people over 65 - with a general dose given to everyone else but children under 2 - they have a 2 shot dose specifically for babies or if there is an allergy issue then the 2 dose nasal spray as long is the problem allergy is the inert ingredients. I understand they also have a nasal spray for adults as well but I am not sure if it is to do with allergies to the shots or something else.
RJ if you have a deep vein thrombosis - I beg you to call your doctor - that is nothing to mess around with. No matter how much you hate doctors or going to them - please call them. That is extremely dangerous. They can prescribe you anti - embolism stockings to keep the clot in place and give you blood thinners to break it up safely - among other things - that is never something you want to dismiss or wait and see if it will go away - it won't and is very dangerous if it starts breaking and gets in your blood stream. It is relatively simple to treat as long as it has not entered the blood stream or started breaking apart. Delay can mean life or death - so please call your doctor.
Rukaya - well the arm still aches but is usable. I think the majority of the problem is the bursitis in my shoulder than it is the shot area itself - but it will pass eventually. I did talk with my pharmacist this morning and he said I should be able to resume meds and creams I use on that shoulder today and should ease that some.
