Wow... I guess I had forgot!

Welcome back, Jase. Y'know. that's the thing with TS3. People knock it, but there's a ton of gameplay. Take the time and install NRAAS MC, Overwatch and Errortrap. That will take care of most of the problems in terms of stability. I've played Sims 3 for sixteen hours at a stretch...or more... depending on how in-depth my game is going. It'll suck you in for hours.

I've been playing the sims 3 after growing tired of the bugs in sims 4. I've been having a lot of fun, much more than I do in the sims 4. In the sims 4 the sims are happy but I'm miserable and frustrated playing the game.

I don't know where this vote is taking place and maybe it's such a secret that I'm not eligible to participate in it. But handshakes aren't really in vogue these days as they are not considered a safe form of expression.

My vote would be for a secret gesture. You know, like jabbing a thumb in each ear and wildly waving three fingers on each hand. Your own ears that is, not those of someone else in case that required clarification. :p

There are some elements of multi-tasking in TS3. Sims can enjoy music while doing other things, they can talk and raise/lower their relationships with others while eating or watching television, they can listen to podcasts and skill up by way of the store's muti-tab object while doing a lot of other things including going for a walk or cleaning the house. It may not be everyone's cup of tea exactly, but with Generations in play sims can woohoo and try for baby while taking a shower thus taking care of two important tasks at the same time.

Walking and chewing gum may admittedly be a bit advanced for them, though it should be noted that sims don't actually chew gum. The closest we have is custom gum mod that is really a dressed up version of WA food morsels and it only takes seconds to consume one. but yes sims do have to stop in their tracks to do so. :)

From what little I understand about TS4 multi-tasking, it's not really all that it claims to be. Players report that it's more like multi-threading where the sims do a little of this, then a little of that, then a little of this again in rapid succession rather than really getting two things done at the same time. And that would be fine too, if it weren't so transparent to the player that this is what is happening as that tends to break player immersion in the illusion (again, from what I've seen reported since I've never really played TS4).

@Jase Welcome back to TS3 :) I played with just the base game for a long time and could amuse myself for hours each day. If you are enjoying yourself now, imagine how much better it will get as you add more EPs. Don't do it all at once - savor each one :)

It is amazing how alive Sims 3 sims feel, even with all the limitations of an eleven year old game. I think one of the marks of a truly good game is how well it makes you care about the characters, even as you know they're not real and it doesn't matter what you do to them. Not to make this about bashing Sims 4, but the few times I've played, I've been sort of absorbed in the moment but have never had the slightest interest in going back for another session with the same sim. Now I don't bother to try: I just name them "test case" and randomize their traits, and I wind up in exactly the same place.

I remember my first Sims 3 sims quite clearly, not only their lives but the way I perceived them. If I still had those user data folders, I'd probably go back and check them out some time. It's not that I spend time contemplating their personalities and imagining how they feel about their lives, it just kind of happens. And that's why I keep coming back to the game.

I personally will continue to only play Sims 3...occasionally I may jaunt over to TS2. But, never TS4...I tried it, didn't like the gameplay. I even bought some stuff in the store...thank goodness the store is still open!

it is nice to get back to may need mods later when the game decides to be ornery but when it's playing nice good to be back, I even came back at a good time to be "irresponsible" able to add on to my collection cause all the bills are paid :D hope people don't mind me tagging on random posts.
