A required security module cannot be activated

My problem started Thursday when i bought 70's 80's 90's stuff and diesel stuff from origin, i downloaded them and installed, all fine but when i came to run the game Friday i got this little box pop up after i clicked play within the game launcher

Sims3-70's_80's_90's_SP8 (this was the header on the little box)


"A required security module cannot be activated.
This program cannot be executed (6000)."

i then uninstalled 70's stuff and got the same message but this time for Diesel stuff, i then uninstalled that and went to run seasons, also bought from origin in december, and got the same message but this time for seasons, game was running with no problems untill i installed diesel and 70's.
So i uninstalled seasons and you guessed it i got the same message for every single one of them!!
So all was uninstalled, cleaned out pc did a ccleaner thingy, installed the base game from my disc all good, i then thought i would install one EP at a time, from origin ambitions, generations, late night, all great and working, went to install supernatural (bought as the digital download from origin) and you guessed it that annoying message again! I now have all 15 games, eps and stuff packs. i have the disc's for all of the games apart from diesel, 70's, supernatural and seasons, and i have gone and pre ordered and paid for university life.

Can anyone help me to fix this problem please

    Thanks for your reply, i read the page from the link you sent me, the only thing i have on that list is AVG anti virus, i have turned this off and i still get the problem, but im not sure what origin has to do with SecuROM? i can connect to origin fine, sorry im not very good with this kind of thing

    If you use the Origin version, SecuRom is installed on your computer as way of verifiying the copy.

    I don't know much about it tbh and don't have the time for research atm.

    Maybe someone else can help you further. if not here, try the tech forum over at thesims.com. More people helping out there.

    thank you i will go check out this sims.com site and see what i come up with, if i find a fix i will post it here incase there is others with the same problem 🙂
