Babies keep and toddlers keep disappering

Hello, I currently have all expansion packs, the 70s, 80s, and 90s stuff pack, and the High-end loft stuff pack. I also have the deliciously indulgent bakery and hidden springs. Recently I've noticed an influx in toddler/baby appearances and deaths. I won't play a household for a while then when I check the household, they'll have a new child in their family tree. That part isn't the issue, however. The issue is whenever I go to that household to see the child it isn't there. I check the family tree and it takes a while to load the picture and appears blank for a second but then shows the baby/toddler. When I try to add the toddler/baby back with the Nrass Master control mod it allows me to add them after a long search and change them from a ghost to human but when I try to save it stays in a long endless loop. I'm not sure why it recently started but it's happening with almost every single household I have with two adults in. I wanna know if anyone has found a solution to this issue. If anyone has been able to save and recover the child without compromising the whole save. I don't mind them having children I just don't want them to be randomly killed off. Here is an example of what I mean. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

  • @bellybunny  This is a known issue with the game, unfortunately.  It doesn't always happen, but once babies and toddlers start getting culled, it can be difficult if not impossible to reverse the process.  The easiest way to put a stop to it is with NRaas StoryProgression: the mod won't let sims be killed off for no reason.

SP is definitely a heavy mod, but you can mitigate its impact by slowing down the overall pace and the speed of each "manager": increasing the cycle length means SP is doing less at any given time.  You can also limit how much inactive sims are allowed to do, for example preventing them from divorcing or changing jobs.  If you'd like to start using SP and don't know how to set it up, the NRaas site is the place to ask.  There are an overwhelming number of settings, but you can really ignore most of them if it makes things easier.

If you don't want to use SP, NRaas Overwatch will at least help recover some of the toddlers, depending on how they went missing.  But it's not a perfect solution.  The only other viable approach that I know of is to turn off EA story progression in the game settings and manage the town's population yourself, either playing the households while they reproduce and waiting for the kids to age up, or using MC to create pregnancies or instant babies and then aging them up right away.
