evuko The login at the Main Menu is fussy at best and usually doesn't work for me either on my Mac even though it's fine in Windows. But I can install Store and custom content without a problem, so the two aren't directly related. The login from the launcher isn't supposed to carry over, so that part is normal.
What you can try now is clearing the password data on your computer. Open Keychain Access, in Applications > Utilities, search for sims3 , and delete any associated entries. Then try the Main Menu, that is if you want to use it at all. If you get stuck connecting again, just delete the same info in Keychain Access.
For the underlying issue, I've flagged it multiple times, and nothing has ever come of it. I don't know whether that's because it would require an update to Sims 3, and there's no one to work on the game; or EA hasn't managed to figure out the issue; or something else entirely.
I'll merge your posts with that master thread once you've seen this. (Since we have no pagination on the site at the moment, I don't want my reply to get lost.) It would be helpful for you to try again to download a Store item, get the error, and then create an EA App error report and post the report ID here.

That's the info EA has been asking for in the master thread.
