nicewhaleshark Sorry for the late reply. If your base game disc was manufactured after September 2012, which it appears to be, it will require you to use Origin (now the EA App) while installing the game. There's no way around the issue. The copyright date on the box, in the fine print on the back, will list the year the disc was made at least.
If your disc is in fact too new to get around the Origin tie-in, you can register the code within the EA App and download the game that way; the same goes for your packs. Or, if the content is already registered, you can simply download your content from your App library. Use the same email address you did when you originally registere the game, either in Origin or on the old Sims 3 site.
