Do you have Wndows 8 64 bit or 32 bit ?
32 bit, its also Windows 8 Pro!
Pro or not does not matter for Error 12.
A 32 bit system can only use 2 GB of the RAM you have. Hence Error 12.
There is a trick with which you can make the system use more but you'll need to google that cause I'm not comfortable with suggestion it (especially if someone is not that tech savy). Do at your own risk if you wanna try.
