Can't Play The Sims 3

When I try to open the game from the EA app the play button is greyed out.  I tried using my desktop icon, but nothing happens.  I went back to the EA app to try and repair my game, but when I clicked on the 3 dots, no repair option shows up.  Also, the play option is greyed out there too as well as the uninstall option.  Please help, I'm not sure what to do next.

    I figured it out by accident.  I tried to play the sims 4 instead and got a pop up saying that I have to close out the other game in order to launch a new game.  So, I tried restarting my computer and that fixed the issue.
