CC won't show up in game

Hello!

I've never downloaded cc for the sims 3 before, but I've followed multiple tutorials online and downloaded some cc that won't show up in game (Other cc I have for the sims 4 works fine though). The file types I downloaded were .package and The Sims 3 Custom Content files. I put The Sims 3 Custom Content files in the "Downloads" folder because I saw that online, and the .package files I put in the "Pakages" folder from this mod folder I downloaded- http://www.simfileshare.net/download/2740308/ . I also deleted the 5 cache files everyone said to delete and repaired my game. I run windows 10 if that's of any help.

I'm not very computer literate so any help would be greatly appreciated 😛

  • @takkaterra  The Sims3Packs you've put in Downloads need to be installed through the launcher's Downloads tab.

For the .package files, try the Mods Framework offered here:

    https://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Installing_Sims_3_Package_Files/Setup_and_Files

Please let me know whether the two sample mods in that folder work—that's a useful test by itself.

Please also delete the five cache files in your user folder.  They should be deleted any time you add or remove mods or custom content.

    • CASPartCache.package
    • compositorCache.package
    • scriptCache.package
    • simCompositorCache.package
    • socialCache.package

If none of this helps, please post a screenshot of the contents of the Packages folder, as in, I'd like to see the files inside.  Please also let me know whether you could see the Sims3Packs in the launcher, and if so, whether the launcher said it installed them successfully.

Everything works, thanks a lot! I think the issue was just that the mod folder I downloaded was missing something. Sorry I started a new thread just for one thing >.<

@takkaterra  I'm glad to hear everything is working now.  The new thread is not a problem at all.  I'd actually rather have that, and merge later if necessary, than have people piling into the same thread with what may or may not be related issues.  And of course it's always appropriate to post on a help forum for game help, even for something that turns out to be simple.
