Changing your Store Username

Is the only way to change your sims 3 store username really to uninstall the game and reinstall in on the EA App? I read that an agent told someone that but that seems like way too much work to simply change your username. It am not sure I understand why there is no option to change it through your account details on the store website after all this time.
