Where do I go to get a Christmas tree? And can my sims open presents that are put under the tree? If so where would I get those?

How much room is needed to have the gift giving party?
Every time I go to throw the party I get a notice saying there isn't enough room for the gift pile! D=
I'm playing in a penthouse.. There is only so much room given.
Don't know how well it works in an appartement. Try moving around some furniture. It's not that big a pile (3x3 or 4x4 I would guess). Fences seem to make the gift giving parties not work at all though, so I don't know if that is the case for appartements as well.
