I don't know too much about AMD's but the graphic chip you have in there might not be that fast (since it's a chip and not a card).
Did you try lowering your graphic settings and turning off mirror reflections ?
I haven't however I have a housemate who also has the same laptop as me but lower specs and he can run the Sims fine. Therefore I do not believe it is the graphics chip I have within the laptop. Seeing as its a new laptop, I don't see how the chip would be causing the problem in reality when my old laptop (Which is around 4 to 5) years old used to run the Sims and the specs on that laptop are considerably lower and older.
Are you willing to try a third party tool ? There's a tool called Crash Log Analyzer that can you help get an indication what is wrong.
Just google it (I can't link it here) and post the result either here or in the comments of the tool (that might be the better way to go cause the creator of the tool can help you first hand).
I'll download it and see what it comes up with if my game crashes again.
I have tried what you said and the crash is still crashing.
