  • cococoa156  Please try launching the game in windowed mode.  Open Options.ini, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, search for fullscreen , and set it to 0 (zero).

If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent attempt to open Sims 3.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.

You can do the same for your Sims 4 crashes, but first, see whether the game works if you remove the entire Sims 4 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts.  This will remove, but not delete, your saves and other user data, which is the point of the test.  You can restore it later, but for now, just see whether the game works with none of that data present.

If the Sims 4 folder copies rather than moving, or you get an error when trying to move it, let me know.
