Sims 3 Crashing on MacBook
I've been playing Sims 3 with a few packs no problem, for a while on a MacBook but since last night my game has been crashing a few minutes into build mode. I've tried repairing the game through the EA App but it hasn't worked, are there any fixes I could try that won't damage my save files? This is the report I get when the game crashes:71Views0likes5CommentsLauncher crashes when I open the downloads tab in Sims 3
Game launcher crashes when I open the downloads tab in Sims 3, maybe someone has ideas how to fix this problem. I play in Mac. I uninstalled everything and then reinstalled but unfortunately it didn't help. I bought a new world - Roaring Heights Gold Edition but I can't download it in my game when launcher crashes.4.5KViews17likes105CommentsGame won't start after pressing play on the launcher
I have an issue with Sims 3. It all started about 2 (or so) weeks ago. The launcher launches, sort of, but the welcome page is blank, it is only the blue background (this issue just started today). When I press the "play" button, it starts to launch, then I get a black screen with a bit of white, and nothing happens after that. Per the task manager, the game isn't accessing the CPU. It is, however, using memory, about 886MB. I have tried SEVERAL things to resolve the matter, but I can't get it to open the actual game. NOT THE LAUNCHER, the game. Here is what I have tried: Uninstall/re-install from the EA app. Problem still exists. I ran dxdiag, but it found no issues or conflicts. I have tried the "affinity fix", no bueno. I have tried altering (with a backup) the Options.ini file by making it a windowed game, and also making the resolution MUCH smaller, a resolution of 1024 768 0 As I have a Ryzen 7 3700 8-core processor, the Intel Alder Lake Patch wouldn't make a difference, so I have not downloaded it. (If it works with other processors, let me know and I'll try it!) This has been my 5th or maybe 6th time I have tried to repair the game in the last two weeks. (I have tried other things, I just can't remember what they were!) I do not get any error messages, just the black with white screen. As a result, there is no error log (that I know of). I am at a loss as to what to try next. I have had Sims 3 since it came out in 2009. Before that, I had Sims 2, and before that, I had The Sims! All were purchased on release, including all of the extra bits, worlds, add-ons, expansion packs, stuff packs and even special gifts from EA at a couple points! (Hey, I even bought the old green plumbob USB stick!!) What I'm trying to say is that I have been playing Sims for a very long time, and never have I come across so many issues with a Sims game! How can we fix this issue?? Thank you very much for your help!! Renfeh104Views0likes9CommentsSims 3 will not open
Hello! I am very frustrated and have searched a lot for solutions for all of these problems and nothing will work. First, my launcher would crash every time I clicked on the download tab so I couldn't download anythig from the store (I don't use CC so I know it's not a problem with corrupted cc files or anything.) I then researched how to fix this and found in a thread on here that if you are signed in to your EA account, you can download everything on the home page in the sims game, where you choose a save to play. Then, my problem became that I would log into my account on the launcher and the info wouldn't show up, would just show a blank blue box even though the launcher acted as if it had accepted my login info. So I tried logging in on the actual game and got stuck in the "connecting" screen until I eventually had to force quit the game. I then researched how to fix this and it said to delete all sims 3 files in keychain access, so I did. It said you could log in on the main menu in the game, not on the launcher, so I clicked play in the launcher to try and do this. Now, when I click the play button in the launcher, it immediately crashes and my game will not open at all. I am so frustrated and I have no clue what to do. Everytime I thought I fixed the problem, another problem would arise. I play on MacBook using the 64 bit sims 3 and I'm on the macOS Tahoe Version 26.1, which I just updated to cause sometimes sims 3 doesn't work on my computer if I need a software update. I have repaired the game via the EA app, I have taken out the sims 3 folder from my computer documents and relaunched the game (multiple times actually, before my game stopped launching) to see if a new file would fix the issue. I really just want to play the game, as I've been playing it for over 10 years and I enjoy it far more than Sims 4.World wont load after downloading cc on windows computer
Hi, i used to play on mac, but since the new update i cant play with cc. - i bought a new computer with windows, and the game works totally fine UNTIL .. i download cc from thesims3.com, then the worlds wont load. i have already tried converting sims3files to package files, and the mods folder, resource.cfg, package aaall of that.. and nothing works. I am losing my mind over this, can someone please help? I just want to play with cc, via the launcher as i used to, and thought when i got a windows computer i would all be solved, but i guess not :(Game crash
I have the base Sims 3 without mods, and it crashes during character creation, and in recent attempts, even when loading a new game. (I understand it's regardless of what I do). I tried reinstalling the game, installing the smooth patch. Compatibility with Windows 7 (I have Windows 10). I tried everything. I even installed a pirated version for testing, and it crashed the same way. Other games work correctly. Please help me. Hi guys. I have been a player of this game for the last 13 years. Recently I purchased a Gigabyte A16 laptop with Windows 11, with an Intel Core i7 processor (13 generation), a Geforce RTX Nvidia 5060 GPU, and 1 TB of SSD capacity. When I finished installing the game (I have it via Steam), the game never launched. I tried not using the launcher but the direct game entry option. I also tried deleting the OneDrive on my laptop. I also tried the Alder Lake patch option, and additionally, I uninstalled and reinstalled the game several times (it is also a brand new game with no saves to download), but overall NOTHING worked. I am a bit desperate about this since I am so attached to the game. Does someone have any experience at all about how to resolve this? Thanks in advance!26Views0likes1CommentCan't get Sims 3 Mod folder to work :(
Hi! I really wanted to start playing Sims 3 with mods so I went to go download the Mod Folder (https://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Installing_Sims_3_Package_Files/Setup_and_Files), but when I went to check if the no intro mod worked it didn't. I downloaded a no eyelash mod and it worked but when I downloaded hair, it crashed when I went there so the mod folder definitely does not work. I have it in the right folder (/Users/*****/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods). I have reinstalled the folder many times and cleared cache but it still does not work. I have uninstalled Sims 3 and reinstalled but the Mod folder still will not work. If needed, my game version is 1.70.305.024017. I did need to ask EA to change my Sims 3 from PC to Mac 64-bit if that may be the possible root of the issue. Thank you for reading this, I hope y'all can help :)Solvedgame freezing every single time - macbook air
Hi, i know the game isnt made for macbook, but my game crashes everytime now. i dont even play long, maybe 1 hr or even less. saving takes forever so i dont do it every 30 mins (i cant even get to a saving worthy point lately because it freezes before i plan to). i have no mod and no CC! thinking of deactivating some packs (like pets and world adventures) even though i see no option to do so. i tried every single keyboard shortcut to force save, force menu, force build/buy mode, force quit to trigger saving- NOTHING! my laptop reacts, i can move my mouse and use other apps, the water or trees move and the music keeps playing but no reaction whatsoever. its totally random and not whenever i do a certain thing. i do have to say i play every family in the world because i love to change their households, so i modify a lot of families but thats all i do. like i said, no mods or custom content! please help, i love my files because i feel the city has so much progression... its boring to stick with one fam. any ideas how else to force safe or what to do for smoother experience? i'm really upset at this point. i played since 2012 and spend so much money on packs. my laptop is from 2018 - german keyboard thanksss!!34Views0likes1Comment
