Hi!! So I finally got the Sims 3 64 bit for my Mac and it runs pretty good and I am very happy with it, there is only one problem. It keeps freezing every like 10 seconds, this didn't happen before though. When it freezes my cursor turns into the like rainbow spinning ball if you know what I mean, I'd like to know how to fix this! :D

@ThanksTacoo Please post the full specs of your Mac, including operating system, as described here:
Please also post a screenshot of your graphics settings. When in-game, click cmd-enter to switch to windowed mode. Click the three dots in the lower left corner of the game window, select Options, and take a screenshot of the settings in the first tab:

Can you help me fix mine? I get 30 seconds of game play and then it freezes for 2 whole minutes. Sometimes the screen goes black for much longer but I still hear sound. Do you know if EA has plans to fix all these issues that we are having?

@amycoLLiNs4518 Some issues are more fixable than others, but I can try. Please start by attaching your deviceconfig.log, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3. You'll neeed to manually open the folders; the file won't show up in a search. You can delete your user and computer names, about 25 lines down, but there's nothing else in that file that can identify you.
Please also let me know what world(s) you're playing in, and which packs you have installed.

Sorry for making another thread but for some reason I can't reply to my own topic but here are my screenshots:
It was about how my sims keeps freezing after like 10 seconds my cursor turns into the rainbow spinning ball, also how do i reply on my own topic haha
sorry for my english its not my first language.
i am not running any antivirus
I got Late Night, Generations, Seasons and University Life installed
I had the Nraas story progression and overwatch mod downloaded, deleted it and it didn't make any difference.

@ThanksTacoo The new thread isn't an issue; it's easy enough to merge with your existing one. And your English is more than fine.
Please try turning down all your graphics options to the minimum, as soon as you load the game to the Main Menu. Switch to windowed mode (cmd-return), and quit. Restart and see whether you have the same issue. If you don't, you can turn up one or two settings at a time and see how it goes.
If it does help to turn down the settings, but turning up on in particular brings the issue back, I'd be interested to know which setting that is. You're not the first person to report the same problem.

Hi,
So I've been having the same problems as everyone else and I think I figured it out. My game was shutting down as soon as I loaded a family, so I tried reinstalling, deleting my mods, clearing caches, etc. and none of them worked. Turned down my settings to low and put it in windowed mode and it worked fine, but when I try to take it back to full screen that's when it crashes again. I think it's the game being in full screen that makes it shut down, and perhaps the settings don't actually need to be on the lowest options!
- 5 years ago@ThanksTacoo Im having the same problem... The longest time I've been able to play is like 30 mins without crashing, and that's lowering the settings a lot.
- 5 years ago@ThanksTacoo mine too and it’s rly annoying cant even play right .

@Kianaaaa998 When is your game crashing, and do you notice any other slowdowns, spinning cursors, etc. when you're playing but before you get a crash? A little more info would be helpful.
Please also attach your deviceconfig.log, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3. You'll neeed to manually open the folders; the file won't show up in a search. You can delete your user and computer names, about 25 lines down, but there's nothing else in that file that can identify you.

@JennaChristine When exactly is the game crashing: after you play for how long, if you do something specific in-game, etc.? Please also attach your deviceconfig.log, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3. You'll need to manually open the folders; the file won't show up in a search. You can delete your user and computer names, about 25 lines down, but there's nothing else in that file that can identify you.

It isn't crashing exactly...it is freezing up every 30 seconds or so on my MacBook Pro and the rainbow pinwheel shows up like it's "thinking" for a few minutes. Then it unfreezes, but then 30 seconds later it does the same thing. Attaching my device log for you.
