^Someone suggested that it may be that the textures were just changed, and this confuses SimPort.
Let me explain. When you make Custom Content, you have to use a mesh (many of you probably already know this, but for those of us who don't). This mesh becomes the "skeleton" for whatever it is you download. A texture is the colours, the patterns, etc, that go ON TOP of that mesh.
So, what could be passing through SimPort is the textures - because it is unlikely that SimPort would accept custom meshes.
So, for the poster above, with the earrings - those earrings were probably made using a mesh that EA themselves made, but re-textured or re-worked so that they look different. But because the actual mesh is the same, it probably doesn't notice the difference...see what I mean?
Still, this is a flaw in SP. But I should emphasize that I AM NOT POSITIVE about the above information I just gave you. This is from my observations, and reading what others have said.
What you said makes a lot of sense, about the game recognizing it's own mesh etc, but it's still a problem if you are correct because that's still CC getting through. And maybe not in the way that it could carry a virus etc, but still loading up our games and simport is dumb anyway. :D
