do windows 7 have to be genuine to download origin

Hi! I haven't been able to download Origin on my Windows 7 Ultimate. I have had Origin on here before, but it stopped working all of a sudden. My Windows 7 is "not genuine" which means I need a key for it. Does my  computer have to be genuine to download Origin successfully?

@waggie03 I downloaded Origin to my Windows 7 Pro (before I upgraded to Windows 10) and didn't have any issues downloading, installing, or running on several Windows 7 computers. Microsoft has different licensing - builder's license (once used that license is locked to that computer and  can not be activated on another computer, oem (Dell, HP, etc), volume licensing (major corporations), student licensing (university), and there are several lesser known licensing techniques. The EULA for each varies. Hard to say what happens when the grace period is over - usually you are locked out of the desktop. The problem with Windows 7 is Microsoft has stopped mainstream support and now Windows 7 is on extended support. this means device drivers will no longer be developed or supported. I no longer repair anything older then Windows 8. The cost is usually cheaper to install a new operating system then to repair. Most repair facilities will just reinstall the factory operating system and return a "clean" machine (usually a week or more in the shop). your going to loose your data either way might as well get an operating system that has some support. BTW Windows 7 SP1 extended support is over January 14, 2020. If your having issues with Windows 7 now it's probably not going to get better.
