do you have BitDefender as it is know to cause conflict with the sims 3 temporarily disable it or also another thing to try is this If that doesn’t help close the origin client and go directly to you origin folder C:\Program Files\Origin Games. Run the origin.exe in this folder with a rightclick -> run as administrator restart the computer or C:\Program Files\(x86)Origin or the origin icon on the desktop right click run as admin restart the computer
Launch Origin and log in with your account - Click Origin in the top left (main menu) - Select Application Settings - From General tab, scroll down to "Update to the beta version if available" and tick the checkbox - Restart Origin
last resort is to uninstall origin then reinstall origin
Did not work. I have started to believe it has something to do with my Router and not Origin - as some YouTube videos won't load either (not all but some). That happens to all devices connected to my network. I've fiddled with firewalls and MTU's and add-ons and all. . .
So £100 new router is probably the only way to go :/

awwww a ton for a router has argos any special offers might tide you over untill you can get the more expensive one

tried putting the cable in the wall (by-passing the router) - still the same issue. So calling my service provider. Ugghh. .. .
