DynamicBookworm That's the wrong place to install it: this folder is for the EA App itself, not for games. I would guess that the EA App is updating and emptying out that folder in the process, thereby uninstalling your game, because the App updater doesn't expect the folder to contain any other meaningful data.
Please install Sims 3 to somewhere else, either the default:
C:\Program Files\EA Games\
or to a new folder you create for this purpose.
