So every time I try to save in the Sims 3, I keep getting the error code 16. I was told the only way I can play the game and avoid error code 16 so I can save is to go back to windows 10 if that's true then there's no way I can do that. My laptop has been windows 11 for a year now and my desktop which is windows 10 has the Microsoft display adapter and when I try to play the Sims 3 on there the screen goes black every now and then. I have tried saving on my laptop adding a number and all that it didn't work. Any help would be appreciated!
Hey @Ami-chan21 The Sims 3 does not support Windows 11 and if playing on an unsupported OS you can run into all kinds of issues.
What is the full error you are seeing?

Just error code 16. Thanks for the help. I'll see how running it on my desktop works in windows mode. Especially with the Microsoft display adapter.

@Ami-chan21 Your posts have been merged with the master thread for this issue. There are a few suggestions in this thread that may help you, although there's no one universal workaround.
The fact that your computer is using the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is actually not a good thing at all. It means that the proper driver for your GPU isn't installed (or isn't working properly), which in turn means your computer isn't utilizing nearly all of the graphics capabilities of your hardware. In practical terms, you're not getting the in-game performance you should.
If you'd like to troubleshoot this issue, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
