Recently every time I try to save my game it comes up with “error code 16”.
I have tried absolutely everything recommended online: deleted all .bad files, unlinked one drive, deleted old generations, I’ve started new households and even uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game but it’s still happening.
Please help!! It’s making me not want to play the game as as soon as I get started I can’t even save it!
livdarling00 Is your Sims 3 user folder still in the OneDrive folder? Simply unlinking OneDrive doesn't necessarily move the location of the Documents directory, which is where Sims 3 will try to put the user folder. To check, right-click the folder and select Properties > General, then look at the Location.
Let me know either way, and we can go from there.
Mine is doing the same thing, when checked it says the location is the one drive
gabriella42612 Then please either get rid of OneDrive or tell it to stop syncing the contents of Documents. Both are covered in this guide, which was written with Sims 4 in mind but applies equally to Sims 3:

Choose "I don't want OneDrive to sync my files" or "I want to get rid of OneDrive" and follow the instructions in that section.
