Game keeps Crashing

Hello, I recently started playing again on my MacBook Pro, but the game keeps crashing about 20 minutes in. I have no idea what is causing the game to crash, and I would appreciate any help. Also, the game did not do this before; it started happening when I switched the lighting and shadow settings to low.

My MacBook Pro specs are

Processor 2.3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5

Graphics: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 1536 MB

Memory:  8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

Currently, I have the games World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Town Lane Stuff, Seasons, University Life and Into the Future

Please also let me know whether you use mods or custom content.  It's fine if you do; I just need to know.

    Thanks for replying!

at the moment, the world I was playing at was Bridgeport, left that one and started a new save in sunset valley, been playing for a while and the game does not crash, and no I do not have mods on

  • 1175d78e721348fc  Bridgeport isn't too broken to be usable, but it does often run poorly on your class of hardware.  Some players have had success turning lighting and tree detail to low, both in the graphics options.  You don't have Pets, so that isn't a source of error.  Another possible issue is the high-rises, or more specifically, the NPC areas inside them.

If you'd like to play in Bridgeport again, try turning down the graphics settings, and try getting rid of the residential high-rises as well, as in, bulldoze them entirely.  You don't have to save your progress; this is just for testing.  You can do both separately to see what results you get.  If the problem is the high-rises, there are more intermediate steps between removing them and leaving them as-is, but since those involve rebuilding the lots a bit, it would be better to establish that this is the problem before putting in the effort.
