Help!!!

Hello! I have recently bought a new ACER laptop. Sims launches however every time I attempt to save it comes up with the following message below.

I have tried almost everything. Deleting the file and saving it as OLD, uninstalling and reinstalling, changing the CPU’s through task manager, deleting corrupted files, deleting One Drive. Does anyone else have any suggestions at all? I am so stuck and desperate to play!!

Thank you

  • Try pausing the game first. Also try playing a bit longer to get past whatever stage of the game it doesn't want to save in the middle of. Or your game is too big. Or you are logged in in the game from the launcher.

I tried playing on this laptop, it seemed to be ok but the sim-minutes went faster, they could only play at speed 1 and hardly got anything done in a day.

Its much better to play it on a desktop computer.  I don't know what the gaming laptops are like. If yours is not a gaming laptop, make your game small, light and on low settings.

  • taragrace1  When you say you deleted OneDrive, did you actually move the Documents directory out of the OneDrive folder?  If not, this could still be the issue.  To find out, search in Windows for Command Prompt, open it, and enter this command:

reg query "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "Personal"

If OneDrive is in the file path, you'll need to move Documents back to the original location.  Normally you can right-click the Documents icon (the special one, not just a folder) in the left panel of a File Explorer window, select Properties > Location, and choose a new location; C:\Users\your username\Documents is the default option without OneDrive present.  But let me know if that doesn't work.
