How do you load an earlier save?

I tried to build a fence around my sims home to keep out paparazzi.  Now I have a papparazzi stuck in my yard who won't leave.  I have taken down the fence and they still won't leave.  The bubble around their head is the icon they get when something is in their way.

I attempted to have my sim invite her out somewhere hoping that would get her off my lot.  She didn't follow.  Now when I click the go home button for my sim, the limo never shows and my sim has the same icon above his head that something is in his way.

I am trying to find a way to load an earlier saved version on the game, prior to me putting up the fence that seemed to cause all of this.  Is there a way to do that?  OR is there another way to fix this?

Have you tried resetSim * - it will reset all sims. Just open the cheat console - type in resetSim * - and hit enter. Don't worry if the game pauses for a few seconds - it's normal.

Also, testingcheatsenabled true might help get rid of the paparazzi. Have you tried that?

To get an earlier save, you will have had to have used "save as". In that case, you can go to your saves folder and load the file. Let's say a save from a few days ago was named "Sunset Valley" - then this save currently is "Sunset Valley 1" - when you go to the saves folder, your Sunset Valley will be there looking like: Sunset Valley.sims3.backup - simply rename it to: Sunset Valley.sims3 - then you can play that save again.

Besides what Andromache said about reseting the sim stuck, I found that the best way to keep paparazzi out, is to put the fence all over your property and put the Electric Gate that came with Night Life expansion pack. The normal gates won't stop paparazzi or other sims from going into your property. The Electric Gate will only allow the sims that live in that house to go in and any sim that you call on the phone for services.

    Hey!

I'm not sure if any of those earlier replies helped or not but the simplest thing I can think of to get rid of the unwanted sims in your yard is to type "ctrl-shift-c" then "testingcheatsenabled true". After that you should be able to shift-click on the sims then object>delete them. That's how I keep all of them out of my yard.

    Hope this helps!
