Huge lagging

Hello, I go back on my sims 3 save, but all the game is lagging, even if I set all options to minimum. My PC configuration is way more better than the recommended one (sims 4 runs very well with all packs and maximal settings). So why doesn't sims 3 work properly? And how can I fix it?

  • lulumisya  Sorry for the late reply; it looks like your thread was moved to this forum after the fact and was buried under newer posts.

Does this happen in a new save in Sunset Valley?  Please test for comparison's sake and let me know.  I'm not saying you need to abandon your main save, only that it's useful information.  And please list the world you've been playing in as well.

I'd also like to see a dxdiag, for reference.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

    Hello, thanks for your response.

The new save in Sunset Valley seems to work with high setings. And my only save is in Moonlight Falls. I hope that information is usefull.

    Thanks again for your help.

  • lulumisya  Moonlight Falls runs reasonably well, so the world itself shouldn't be an issue.  How long have you played this save?  Do you use mods, and if so, which ones?  It's fine if you do, in fact some of them are very helpful, but I do need to know what you have installed.  If you don't use mods but are open to adding some, let me know and I can make suggestions.

Please also describe the lag in more detail, since there are multiple symptoms people describe as "lag" that don't necessarily have the same underlying cause.
