Thank you so much, crinrict, for this thread. You are a true tech god and a kind person to take your own time to do this. I'm new to the Forums, too. Never had any real problems in the past two years.

1. Are you using any Custom Content or mods? No Mods; only Newseas hair but removed
2. Do you have Into the Future or just the Patch? Did them back to back this morning.
3. Which Patch Level are you at? 1.63
4. Did you start a new game or are you playing an existing ones? N/A issue happens before selecting a game.
5. Did you transfer an existing Sim over or are they new/Pre-Made? Couldn't get that far.
6. What town are you currently playing? EA or Custom? NA. Couldn't get that far.
7. What is your Operating System (Mac, XP, Vista, Win 7)? Win 7, 4MB RAM
8. Do you have the download or DVD Version of the game? Download on all but the base game. Fought that for months with support and finally had to use a DVD for that one.
9. Are you reporting for the Future-World, Uni-World, Home-World or WA-World? N/A
10. I own all EPs, all but Katy Perry SPs, and almost all the store except the child/toddler stuff.


This may be a technical question. I don't know. But my game worked perfectly until I did the update and the new game this morning:

Saved everything to my update folder and installed the patch. Then, after arm wrestling EA/Origin to get my game (that's another story), installed Into the Future.

Tried to play but got stuck at Main Menu with a spinning circle around EA and no way out but go to Task Manager and end it, that was three times. Options and the cheat line weren't working.

Waited a while, went back in and got to Main Menu again. Spinning had stopped but it was requiring me to login, which I usually don't. Then it said my login was invalid over and over.

Waited again. Loaded my saved files back into the game with store content and no CC hair. I was trying to download some of my sets and the game kept starting itself. I stopped downloading and just opened the launcher and it started the game again without me initiating game play. Never touched the Start arrow in all these times. Did this three more times on its own. Would love to get in and try the new game. Do you think that it's possessed??? :twisted:

OK, I got into the game finally and realize that this EP takes a lot more than 4 MB RAM. I need to add the other 4MB so I have 8MB. People have told you about how slow the whole thing is so that's not new. No problem with my saved game or getting to the future. Haven't come back yet. The future is pretty smooth.

Problem now is the same one so many others have mentioned and that's clicking on a sim for any interaction. It comes but you have to wait a whole lot longer and sometimes click more than once to get the menu around the sim. I understand that is on your list.

The other thing is that Build/Buy mode is not as smooth as it used to be. Sometimes, particularly with kitchen items, you can get stuck holding a counter for a while until the hand lets go. That seems to happen more with high end stoves than anything else but stoves are not the only thing. Things just get stuck in that hand and you have to click ESC a lot of times then wait -- I usually have to walk away it takes so long -- for the hand to let go.

I still think it's possessed. And I still think you are GREAT!!
