Issues with game codes

Hi!

So, I had a craving to return to Sims 3 and dug out the mountain of old Sims 3 game boxes hidden in the darkest depths under my bed. I've had these games for years, and I can guarantee that I'm the only one who has owned these games and nobody else has used them.

I tippy typed in each code, they worked great and all was well... Mostly. I found that four of them -- Pets, Supernatural, Island Paradise, and University Life -- all claim to have been redeemed. Maybe it was an old account? I'm not too sure truthfully. I would have thought either way it would be on the current email address that this account is linked to, but I'm worried it might have been one of my old spam accounts.

Regardless, my issue: how can I access these games, or how can I contact EA about this issue? I have the physical copies next to me with their codes, so that isn't an issue... But how can I link them to my account? Can I get EA to unlink them to whatever other account I may have made? I have no access to those emails anymore, I don't even think they exist anymore. I also can't find a way to contact anyone from EA, so I'm hoping someone here might have some advice.

Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • VaguelyJay  There is no way to remove the packs from the old account, but support does have two options.  One is to help you recover that old account, if you know enough details about it.  The other is to accept your proof of ownership and add the games to your own account.  These might be the same process on the back end; I wouldn't know.

Point is, take a photo for each pack showing the disc, its case, and the product code (clearly readable).  You can upload these photos when you submit the help request.

I would strongly recommend using live chat rather than email.  If you don't see the option, try this link:

    https://help.ea.com/en/help-contact-us/?product=the-sims-3&topic=missing-game&category=manage-my-account&subcategory=find-missing-game

You could also try entering any email address you currently have access to into an EA login window (like the one on this site) and clicking "Forgot your password?"  If the address is associated with an EA account, you should receive a password-recovery email.  Check the spam filter as well as the inbox.  If you can show you own that account, and having access to the linked email is enough, support should be able to merge the accounts for you.

And just a side note, if you have a pre 2012 base game disc, you can install your discs and play without the game being linked to an EA account.

Install the base game, then install the Superpatch which takes you to patch 1.67, then install the rest. Just make sure not to install Origin or any other online software when it asks.
