@warmcappuccinoIs the base game in your EA app library as owned? If it is that means you have successfully redeemed an activation code. You have to have this. The fact that you need the disc to play means you installed by disc. The disc version installs SecuROM and SafeDisc.. When the disc was produced that was the DRM in use in 2009 when TS3 was released. The fact that SafeDisc is still requiring a disc to play means you do not have the latest version patch. You could find the super patch and patch the game. Once you patch with the super patch the next time you load the game it should patch to version 1.69 (for Windows). This can NOT be downloaded as a separate patch (that I know of). The 1.69 patch will deactivate SecuROM which is no longer supported by Microsoft Windows operating system. This patch will also deactivate SafeDisc which will stop the need for a disc to play. OR you can uninstall the game and install the game digital download from the EA app. This is a one time shot that installs TS3 version 1.69. Some packs may or may not work if the game is not at version 1.69. The EA app (for Windows) is the present DRM for this game and needs to be running to play. hth
I will kind of try that... I bought all 21 discs separately (including base game) from people on the internet. Most of them were already used and probably 1/3 of them came sealed, that's why I was able to register High End Loft. I'm gonna download it from my brother's computer to see if the digital copy is actually working. Then I'll see if I uninstall the cd version from my computer.
but if I ever get the 1.69 patch can I still be able to install the other discs? And use it mixed with the digital version? I don't know if that's possible.

@warmcappuccino I haven't tested myself, as I only have a couple discs that I registered to my own account a long time ago. But from other players' reports, it's really hit or miss whether the EA App will recognize discs whose codes aren't registered. And when it doesn't work, there's nothing the player can do to fix it other than buying the game or pack(s) again.
I would suggest that staying with an all-disc install is likely to be more reliable. Since HELS is registered on the Sims 3 site, you should be able to install Store and Exchange content as well, but let me know if that's not the case.

It appears the store and exchange is working. But I failed to install World Adventures. It just kept giving me errors. First I thought I installed in the wrong directory, but then I saw that the game had recognised it so... I just deleted everything and HOPEFULLY it will work as it DID last week.
it's so annoying that I can't have both like I have registered a few packs yeah, but who cares if the others are pre owned? It's such an old game and they don't make cd copies of it anymore. I just wanted to go back in time a little, but it's just stressing me out. If it doesn't work anymore I'll be very upset.
