Sigh. Here we go again.
Bridgeport is full of hate for me. It has massive spawning of NPCs (mixologists, bouncers, pianists). Usually in the 5-6 week range, I get increasing lag, broken elevators, and of course, the invisible Sims. Deleting the community lots and replacing them with their library copies only works once, maybe twice, and then things go to Hades all over again. Resetsim stops working, too.
I have every official disc version of the Sims, save Barnacle Bay (which I have via the online store thanks to the free points given for the base game and WA).
The very fact that we have to use cheats, "workarounds", or third party mods, speaks volumes of the poor quality of the product.
The lack of a response from any customer support official, or any company official, speaks volumes about the quality of the company itself.
The fact that a thread on the company's official community forum containing the collective complaints of hundreds of users was deleted in its entirety all because of one, maybe two, malicious posters, is abhorrent. Every forum engine contains the ability to simply remove single posts in a thread. Name one engine that doesn't give moderators that ability. And if this company is using one that doesn't allow for single post removal... well...
Perhaps sending a form letter from every frustrated Sims 3 user might start garnering attention. Send it to every known outlet. Send it to a living person who is "higher up" in the company. Send it via the postal service, complete with an inked signature. Maybe then we'll get an honest response.
I won't hold my breath, however.
