I had an invisible butler I couldn't get rid of. She kept cooking, and cooking, and cooking. Couldn't click on her, she wasn't there. Couldn't "reset sim" because I didn't remember her last name. Even uninstalled Sims 3 and all the expansions. Nothing I tried worked. Finally I thought that maybe if she didn't get paid she would quit. I spent like crazy doing money eating modifications on my house and anything I could think of to get my money down to where she couldn't draw her salary and she left!!! I then used the motherlode cheat to get my money back. Makes me think twice about hiring another butler. Hope this works for others.
