Understood - and not long now until the first Generations patch. We shall see! In the meantime I hope you enjoy your game crinrict.
45rpm, my game has been running ok (bit of lagging but not unbearable and a few invisibles but only paparazzi!) but I've been too scared to go travelling in case WA screws everything up. I read on a bug list that crinrict posted on twallan's site that having his story progression mod installed might fix some of the WA problems. So today I plan to make a back-up of my game and then send a sim travelling. I'll see if they can get quests, excavate, get home without fathering any mystery foreign kids, retain a proper family tree etc. I'll report back. If all fails, well then I'll just go back to my back-up save and carry on ignoring WA for the time being. But it would be really handy if my sim could at least get to France and back; he's running out of nectar
Later: Actually, scrap that experiment! Tried to travel to France but the sim didn't get there. The green loading bar got about 3 mm from full, then just stopped filling up. I waited a full 15 minutes but then gave up. I read all the games tips multiple times as they cycled round. WA is very frustrating, I'm giving it a break again. Might try China/Egypt later in case it's just France.
Later again: Grrr! I managed to get my sim to China, although it too a very long time to load. I now wonder if France would have loaded if I'd waited even longer - let it load while I out to lunch maybe! Anyway, in China, sim had a nice time learning martial arts etc. Then came to send him home and after yet another very long wait watching the green bar fill up, my sim vanishes and I get an empty UI. Story Progression threw up a few script errors. I quit without saving and will just go back to my last save (I saved right before the sim travelled so should be fine). I've wasted a lot of time today trying to get my sim a vacation. I give up now and will just be pleased that his home town is OK!
