Scorpio1959 The error you're getting is generic and doesn't mean your game isn't updated. The downloads in question could be outdated or generally broken, or there could be an issue with your already-installed content that's blocking the new stuff from installing correctly.
So please try installing one of these Sims3Packs in a clean user folder. Move or rename the existing Sims 3 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts, open the launcher to spawn a clean folder, download a fresh copy of one item, and see whether it installs correctly. If it doesn't, it's probably just broken. In that case, trash the new Sims 3 folder rather than test-installing anything else into it, as that one broken item can make subsequent installs fail even when the items in question are fine.
If the items install fine into the clean folder, or at least some of them do, let me know whether it would be a burden to reinstall all your Store and/or custom content. There's a way to combine freshly-installed files with existing content, but it's not as reliable as starting from scratch.
Regardless of the results, you can delete the new Sims 3 folder and restore the old one to get all your saves and other existing content back.
