Just wanted to say that I hadn't been playing for a few weeks but I took up the game again. Crinrict's mod recommendation really did fix my game. And I am sooo happy I was able to recover my file that I thought was lost due to spawning and invisible sims.
But I wanted to add that I got a new computer and transferred all my files over this past weekend and I was amazed at my game. Prior I was complaining about sims standing around doing nothing, taking forever to do things like change clothes etc... and when I started my game on my new computer everything was GREAT! So, I really do think the low specs of my other computer were part of the issues. Sure my other computer met all the requirements per the specs on the game box but apparently they forgot to mention that many things would not be so grand.
For example, I had never noticed the fountain in the city park in Sunset Valley had animations like it did. My old computer was limiting the animations of the fountain. Also the sims about town where actually doing stuff instead of standing around doing nothing. Socializing, etc…
Oh, the biggest thing I use to complain about was the home parties. My sim would arrive and stand around outside doing nothing. Couldn’t get in etc… And when the party was over I’d get this message, thanks for coming, but my sim had never stepped foot inside the door. BUT, when I started up my game on my new computer I had my sim attend a home party. She walked right into the home, the home was crowded with activity, and my sim actually started conversing with the home owner without me ‘forcing’ commands! So now I’m wondering if the old specs on my other computer were also the cause of my sims just standing around outside home parties they’d been invited to.
I will test my game some more to see. I haven’t put the mod back in yet as I first wanted to see how my game performed, mod free, on my new computer.
Note: I am not saying the invisible sims issue is due to low specs. I really think that is something else. Maybe I should run mod free on new computer to see what happens?
