(MAC) Sims don't do any actions

Question

I downloaded the Sims3 plus Supernatural onto my new MacBook Air and created 2 sims and moved them into town. They are standing in one place and when I click on, let's say the fridge to cook, they don't move. I tried "move here" and they are not moving at all. Is there an incompatibility with MacBook Air or am I simply not using the pad correctly to make them do anything. They don't even do anything on their own either. They're immobile.

Any suggestions?

HiSounds very odd. Is the time progressing while the sims stand immobile, or is the whole game frozen including the clock? What happens if you try playing a different sim?Have you tried resetting those sims?
