I have the newest mac operationg system 10.9 I believe.
And I assume IP is the one you have in.
Does the disc have any scratches ? I'll forward this to our mac helper for better help.
My husband is a major techy. The disc is as clean as the day I bought it! No scratches or dings.

Is anyone still helping me with my issue or have they given up? The disc I am using is the proper disc for the game.
You mentioned that you recently downloaded patch 1.66, the brand new one. Did you get it through the Updates tab of the Launcher or did you download the manual patch file? At the bottom of the Launcher does the number confirm that you are now at that patch level?
Do you have mods or custom content that might be incompatible with the new patch?
Sometimes the disc authorisation error happens randomly. It is often just the disc having a mad moment and after a few tries it works. Either that or the disc is damaged as Crinrict suggested.
If you cannot get it working you could consider uninstalling the disc version of IP and then downloading and installing the digital version from Origin. Then you will not need the disc any more.
