Installed the super patch, now I'm getting the message "There was an error during startup. Please check the Log for more details."

I'm lost, have no idea what to do from here.

The log can be found in documents/electronicarts/thesims3 and is called Sims3LauncherLogFile.log  that may mean a problem with origin which will mean uninstalling origin then reinstalling origin i'll be back with an FAQ

I also get the second error all the time.. i downloaded and reinstalled for about 5 times already. Also bought the humble bundle.

I've completely removed all traces of Sims 3 from my computer (registry, documents). 

I'm downloading it again via the Origin Client.

After installing a new download of the The Sims 3 I tried running it without any patches. It starts and all, but I still get the Insert CD error.

This game is riddled with unnecessary DRM, It would be so much easier to just torrent it.

Okay, I tried installing The SIms 3 from my laptop, it seems to work on there. The problem is with the computer I'm using. The Sims 3 Launcher is stuck on version 0.0.0.000000.

I'm going to try to contact Origin Live Chat.

Would be nice if you would post solution here if you have one.

I am getting the same error for invalid serial number. I have a 20 digit code that is shown on my origin game account and I always get that error when trying to register the serial number on the sims website. Looked at the supposed fix post and it did not help at all, let alone fix the problem.
