Also, I'm thinking that until a patch is made, this topic should be stickied. If only because this is a problem that's affecting a large amount of the community.

I used a previously saved sim to go to Uni. Only problem I had so far was no school icon showing up where the employment icon used to be. Figured out that was due to conflict with twallans traveler mod.
Right now she is home, but she will be going again soon & I will see what happens then.
But she got to Uni just fine & she was able to select a place to stay just fine.
Then when it was time for her to come home, she got home fine.
So I'm not sure why there is a stipulation about not using a previously saved Sim to go to Uni.

I created a new folder in documents/electronicarts and named it The sims 3. The old one i named The sims 3 backup. After that i started the game and created a new game and attended to university. Everything worked - the performance bar and the schedule showed up like it should. I had some mods like decrapped and storefixes but i removed them. i kept the hair, clothing and furniture.

I will start a new game and see if everything works as it should. I'll get back to you :wink:

Didn't work when i put the downloads and the save files in.. Could it be that my other saves has the decrapped stuff in it still`?

We're currently investigating this, can you get me a little more information on what was going on with your game by answering some questions for me?

1. Was this a new save, or a save you have been playing for awhile?
2. What EP's or SP's where you using?
3. Did you have any exchange content on your Sims?
4. How many Sims did you send to school, What majors did they pick, How many credits, and Did they have any Scholarships?

Any other info you might have that could be helpful is appreciated!

1. I've tried new saves and old ones
2. All EPs and Fast Lane SP
3. No exchange content but I do have store content including the UL Limited edition pack
4. First I tried 3, with Business, Communications and Fine Arts, and they all had scholarships. That didn't work so I tried one sim with the Business major, no scholarships. All of these had the lowest number of credits (12?).

I don't use any mods.

This is so frustrating! I read that the UL Limited edition items were causing the problems so I deleted them... no luck. I hope there's a fix soon!

Just take the old saves folder out , try to play & see. Then you will have your answer :) The game will generate a new saves folder on its own.

Only one, Fine Arts, Full scholarship with 18 credits when she came to University but is aiming for 36, she's on her 2nd week.

I removed all my mods before installing University and started a new game just to test it out and had no schedule or performance bar. I then removed my whole Mods folder and ran the game without cc (both from the store and others)and deleted cashes before starting over. Still no change in the game I had just played before but when I started a new game the schedule showed up but still no performance bar. I did a resetsim and the performance bar showed up but I had to do a resetsim again after the first week (my sim went for 2 weeks)to make the performance bar show up again. =/

Did you clean out your DCBackup folder ? If not delete everything in it except a ccmerged.package file. Then try again & see if it helps.
Read somewhere that resetting the sim causes problems.

The reason why saving at university is a problem is because this bug sticks with save games. Thus, if you apply a fix that works, and then load into a university game, it will still be bugged, even if you've really solved the problem.

I'll also point out that even if you say you aren't using mods, you might actually have the store fixes which are causing this issue. Many don't consider them mods because they are unofficial patches of sorts. But they are still mods and they are causing this bug.

It very well might be that one day, you realized that store items were hopelessly glitched, you did a google search for a fix, and you installed it following the instructions. And in doing so, you now have mods. So even if you think you don't have any, check this folder:
my documents/electronic arts/the sims 3/mods/packages

look for files that have storefix in the name, there are a few that do this.

And as I said above, a current save in university will be corrupted. You can try dropping out and coming back, but if that doesn't work, you may have to use a save you made before you installed university life. Or start a new game entirely.

Lastly, stop complaining about EA releasing buggy games. This isn't a bug with the vanilla game, but with third party mods. They are not responsible. Nor will they fix this.

Don't know if it'll be any help but the mod which was causing this issue for me turned out to be the Vampire Overhaul

Heh, there's a vampire overhaul mod? Where, where? :mrgreen:
