Please help, I have no idea what is going on....

The Sims 3 expansion packs keep on failing to download, I am on a Windows 8 PC, and each time I start to download my expansions I keep getting the 'Download error: pease check your internet connectio...

I ran Origin as Admin and made sure it was whitelisted for my firewall. My firewall has no problem, that's all good.

I did as you suggested and tried downloading Plants Vs Zombies, that too failed. I had recently installed Origin (as I had to buy a new laptop...) So I am no closer to finding out what is wrong.

Make sure you have Proxies turned off.

Control Panel --> Internet Options --> Connections --> LAN Settings --> Untick Proxy Server
