Please help, The sims 3 keeps crashing after the later update etc...PC

Yesterday i bought and installed a digital copy of the sims 3 Into the future expansion (it's kind of no longer being sold on disc where i live), i have the base game and a couple of other expansions on disc.

Due to my game recently freezing constantly, i uninstalled and reinstalled the base game, island paradise, seasons, pets and Katy Perry sweet treats (one of these are limited edition) and followed the updates for each one along with the set up wizard.

After doing all of that , i bought the into the future expansion, downloaded and updated origin and then updated the base game on there as i said i had to before i could download and install showtime and into the future.

I don't know why it come up with Showtime when i never bought it and i have a hard copy that i didn't re install (by choice) anyway after i done all of that, i restarted my laptop to refresh it (seeing as it had been there for hours processing all of the above) and i clicked on the sims  icon and origin popped up.

Why do i have to login t play? i've never had to do that (ever) then when i clicked play in the game launcher, a message popped up about selecting only a few expansions despite the fact they were all marked as installed (why?) i chose into the future/pets/seasons then it let me click play and loaded the game with no problem.

Before that i did click the install button at the bottom and it opened origin and started downloading Showtime, i canceled it then went back to the game launcher (proceeded as mentioned above) and created a sim , moved to appaloosa plains and the game closed out and kept saying it has stopped working.

I restarted it 3 times and it crashed either before i'd pick a house then just after i moved in to one.

I can't understand what i did wrong, i read that you can use both disc and digital copies together (all of my discs are from EB games, registered the base game with origin i think, bought my first digital copy and via Origin)

my base game is 3 years old and the few expansions i bought over time, i'm running Windows 7, 64 bit and had plenty of room to re install everything, i would appreciate help from anyone who may have tips or know how i might be able to fix this or let me know if i probably installed everything wrong (not really a pro at technology)

i sat there for 6 or so hours on the 20/1/16 and ended up with a headache by the end and my laptop is a few years old 🏀 but it still works fine and i've never had any issues with sims before this.
