I don't know for sure, but I'm assuming yes. That problem is a "known issue" listed in the FAQ we have on this board (http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Thesims3-com-Issues-updated-2013-02-06/m-p/135888#M5112) and if EA didn't give you the 1000pts that would be false advertising since it was promised with the purchase of the game.
