What to do when my sim cannot collect nanites in sims 3 In to the future? My cursor turns grey and doesn't let me interact with them in any way when I try to collect them.

@Ankkeri This is a known issue that has never been fixed, unfortunately. I've merged your post with the corresponding master thread.
If you own Ambitions, your sims should be able to collect nanites or any kind of insect with the Harvester. If you don't have an inventor in the household, you may be able to buy a Harvester at the Consignment Store, where stock rotates weekly; or you can find one in BuyDebug.
