I finally solved it here folks.
I had redeemed my HB code in the Origin application, managed to download it just fine, but whenever I clicked install nothing would happen.
I tried registering it at thesims3.com but that didn't solve anything for me.
I tried to redeem again with the product code that is under the "i" in the Origin App, but it didn't accept it.
Finally, I looked up for the executables in the directory of the downloaded game and found the installer. ( \Origin\The Sims 3\__Installer\sims3setup.exe )
I ran it as administrator and it asked me for the 20 code. The 16 code didn't work, but then I tried filling the last block with "----" as was suggested here, but that didn't work also... But i tried it with "____" and it WORKED!
It installed just fine, and it is updating right now! - ApprovedAnonymous12 years ago
Seriously?
Your EA-Advisor was very kind (almost machine like)... but i think is better waiting... than correcting US their mistakes.
I got no time for this...

And the thing with the URL... I don't know if it's colapsed or something... but takes a life to load, and when it's done, EA laught in my face telling me that "they are sorry, but seems the url i requested doesn't exist"
Someone with the same issue?

everyone, i´d say...
steam doesnt pull these issues...on the bright side, the money's going to a good cause...But from my perspective, this will end with a massive apologize, and only few getting this game in particular, while most getting lost in the "trap"...
the server overload isnt helping either...but yeah, that 20 digit code...how couldnt they think of that? tell HB pals "hey, we didnt give you guys the other security code everyone will require", please
