@LeHippieMon Try open IE 11 - click the options cog - click advanced - click reset - click ok. This will reset ALL the settings to factory. If you upgraded some of the settings they may have come over with the upgrade.

Did all of that, still getting a script error.

Ive reset IE 11, I've uninstalled and reinstalled, I've ran in compatibility mode for windows 7, I'm out of ideas. Trying to do chat with EA is a waste of time, it's said "your chat case is still loading" for an hour.

Hi @LeHippieMon,
If you press yes or no in the error message, are you able to open the game?
I recommend you to take a look to the first post in this thread, where you can find some suggestions by @Crinrict which might help: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/Info-Script-Errors-on-the-Launcher/td-p/2216747
Let us know if it helps 🙂

Whether I select yes or no makes no difference, the same error message shows up again.
None of the offered suggestions work. I would think for a game that EA thinks is still viable enough to push 20 dollar DLC they would put a bit more work into stuff like this, or at least have a viable live chat solution. Could it be this is just an issue with windows 10? I ran in compatibility mode but that doesnt always work. I have a friend with windows 7 who says it works fine.

I go to try to create a new account but this page, whenever I press "SIGN UP!" nothing happens, it just reloads the same page.
- Anonymous9 years ago
After again resetting my browser history, it allowed me to create an account. I am not logged in, but the script error still appears.

@LeHippieMon Windows 10 shouldn't be a problem.
Please, don't create a new account, that won't fix this issue as you can't even log into the launcher and you wouldn't have your games in your new account.
Try to do this:
- Close the launcher completely (check it's not minimized near the clock)
- Go to Documents \ Electronic Arts
- Rename 'The Sims 3' folder to 'The Sims 3 old'
- Open the launcher again from Origin.
Is the issue still there? Does it happen if you try to open the game without logging in?

It would appear I had not made a sims 3 account, I am now able to log in at the launcher, but the script error still shows up both before and after logging in.
- Anonymous9 years ago
This script error shows right on startup, but now it will let me log in
- Anonymous9 years ago
On startup, a new folder is created , just called "The Sims 3", with significantly fewer items in it, however.
- Anonymous9 years ago
I am now getting a new error message, http://launcherapi.thesims3.com/launcher/home.html?launcherLocale=en_US&launcherCountry=US

Ok, @LeHippieMon, please follow these steps:
- Close the launcher completely
- Delete "The Sims 3" folder (the new one)
- Rename "The Sims 3 old" to "The Sims 3"
- Open the folder
- If they exist, move the files: Sims3Logs.bin, launchermanifest.pid, Sims3LauncherLogFile.log to your desktop
- Open the launcher again through Origin
Try to play 🙂

It just replaces those files and shows the same error.

Hi @LeHippieMon,
Let's try something different then. Could you follow these steps?
- Close the launcher completely.
- Follow these steps to reset your Internet Explorer personal settings: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/Issue-logging-into-Sims3-Launcher/m-p/5412636/highlight/true#M212276
- Open Origin, right click on The Sims 3 and select 'Repair'
- Once the process ends, try to open the game again through Origin
Is the error still there?

Followed each of these steps, still getting the error.

Hi @LeHippieMon,
Could you try to use another Windows administrator account to play the game? You would need to log into Origin with the same account you are using now.
Let us know if with another Windows account it works.

Nope, didn't work.

Ok @LeHippieMon, thanks for trying.
Even if the error appears, you mentioned you can now log in. I know it pops up again, but are you able to press the 'Play' button before it pops up again? You should be able to play even if the error message is there, and this won't affect your game.

Yes, I am still able to play. I can just close the message. It would be nice to know what causes it, but otherwise it is just an inconvenience. Thanks for the help.
