to start a new game in another town go to the main menu click the + new game the drop down menu will have a list of worlds that you have pick the world and off you go also in in Sunset valley go to  edit town and save acopy of your sims to the libiary if you want to play with them in another town

there is one free world on the sims 3 site for you to download Riverview just in case you don't have it
