Re: Sims 3 Seasons - No Disc Found

Did you install anything else since it stopped working ? Are you sure it's the Seasons disc you have in ?

No nothing else. Yes it is the seasons disc (just double checked). I was playing it last night. Went to play it this morning... installed the game update then it started saying the no disc found error. I've seen that other people have had similar problems however what's strange is that it was fine the last couple of days.

I have even tried going to my computer and right clicking the DVD drive and it says to insert disc so it's almost as if my pc isn't even reading the disk now 😕

Can you read other discs ? Do you have another computer you can try out the DVD on ?

I don't have another PC that I can try it on but I will try some DVD's or CD's on it tonight just to check that it isn't the PC that's playing up.

If it is just the Sims 3 disc that's playing up do you have any reccommendations of what to do?

    Many thanks,

    Jenna

You can get the download version from Origin for free. Just redeem your codes there (if the game does not already show up in your MyGames tab in the Origin client) and uninstall the disc version. Then download the download one and you should no longer need the DVD.

Struggling to find how to uninstall the game. I am on windows 8. It doesn't come up with any option to uninstall when I right click on the shortcut. I have gone through My Computer - EAgames - Sims 3 Seasons - Game - Bin - then when I click the eauninstall it asks me what programme I want to open the file with and lists stuff like paint, photo display, windows media player, etc... as if it is just the small image icon for the uninstall option.

    Many thanks,

    Jenna

Also on Origin it only says that I have the Sims 3 - it doesn't list my other expansions (Nightlife, pets, supernatural and seasons)?

    Here's instructions:

If the EPs don't show up on Origin, you can redeem the codes. If that doesn't work, contact Customer Support

They can be found here: https://help.ea.com/contact-us

Choose a category, a game and a platform for the contact options to show up.

If live chat is gray, change your country to US and make sure you're on US Business hours. It might also gray because they're very busy. Try later.

See this post if you have trouble with the site: http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2012/10/how-to-contact-ea.html

Beware that there's no longer an Email option

Thank you very much it worked. Uninstalling and re-installing the game didn't lose what I had done before... YAY :D

    Thanks again

@Demilovesims The game was released in 2009 with SecuROM and SafeDisc for DRM. In 2012 Windows and OS X no longer support SecuROM and Safedisc. The DRM is now Origin. You need to update your game to Origin. Create an Origin account if you don't have one already. Redeem all your game/pack codes so they are registered in Origin. If you game is not at version 1.67, download the manual version 1.67 super patch and run it. At that point Origin should automatically update the game to version 1.69. This patch will disable/remove SecuROM and SafeDisc. You will no longer have an install limit and you will not need a disc to play the game.
