Re: Sims 3 won't update

What's your operating system ?
Does the launcher start ?
How far do you get, try to describe what happens in as much details as possible (without getting too lenghty)
Do all installed games show up in the Origin client ?
Which base game version do you have: http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2014/02/sims-3-base-game-versions.html
Which Security Software are you using (Firewall, Antivirus) ?
Do you have the disc or download version or a mix ?
Do you have any files with xctp in your documents\electronicarts\thesims3\ folder ? (those are crash logs) ?

I have windows 7. The launcher starts and will play the sims 3 original if I don't do any updates or install the expansions. If I manually update it and the expansions, which are a mix of downloaded and on disc, it comes up with an error when I hit the play button that says the game is not updated. It won't automatically update so I've manually updated all of them. The same error comes up. And now it won't let me uninstall them so i can try it all again.

Try a clean reinstall following the instructions here: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall and here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/Help-Guide-All-in-one-fix-except-hardware-issues-PC-only/m-p/734448#M36281 where it says Delete game installers

Make sure everything Sims is gone from your computer before reinstalling

If the game still shows in your Uninstaller Menu afterwards, you can use CCleaner to get rid of those.
